Data from Ireland shows, that Covid vaccines don't prevent severe illness and death
The latest data from Ireland reveals interesting information about vaccine effectiveness. Contrary to what politicians and health authorities are constantly telling us, Covid vaccines don’t prevent severe disease and death, even among those, who have no underlying medical condition. At best they reduce the risk.
63% of all Covid deaths have at least received one dose of vaccine and 51% were fully vaccinated. 31% of the fully vaccinated Covid deaths had no underlying health condition. With truly effective vaccines, not a single death or ICU admission should have been reported.
Currently 93% of all adults in Ireland are fully vaccinated and 9% have received a booster shot. That they ‘only’ represent 51% of deaths seems to indicate, that vaccination provides at least some protection. However, as the death count started in April at a much lower vaccination level and a much lower prevalence of the Delta variant, we can’t draw any final conclusions without additional data.
It is interesting, that the share of the vaccinated in ICU (37%) is much lower than the death share (63%) and that more people died (651) than were admitted to ICU (589). Additional data is required to interpret this.
As the median age for ICU admission is 67 and for death 81, Covid poses by far the highest risks to the elderly. Unfortunately, more details about age distribution and underlying conditions among younger people is missing.
The data from Ireland provides useful information to counter propaganda, that we are living through a pandemic of the unvaccinated and that vaccination of the whole population is the only way out of the crisis. But more detailed information from more governments is urgently needed and all data should be vetted by truly independent experts before publication.
